The Nogales Family Resource Center helps families with children ages 0-5 in Santa Cruz County to prepare for kindergarten. We provide free classes, activities, and social events.

Below is a list of our core classes. We invite you to come visit, meet the staff, and register for classes. Please pre-register for all classes. Perfect attendance is required for end of class incentives and graduation.

Nogales Family Resource Center is a partnership with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and Nogales Unified School District #1 and funded  a grant from First Things First.

About First Things First – First Things First is a voter-created, statewide organization that funds early education and health programs to help kids be successful once they enter kindergarten. Decisions about how those funds are spent are made by local councils staffed by community volunteers. To learn more, visit www.azftf.gov.

Our kindergarten readiness classes will help prepare parents and children for their first school experience. We work with our kindergarten readiness students on sorting and counting; large and small motor skills; following directions; playing with other children; and recognizing letters, shapes, and numbers. We also offer practical lessons parents can use at home to help prepare their preschool-aged child for elementary school.

If your child will be attending kindergarten next school year, we highly encourage you to enroll him or her in our kindergarten readiness program this year. To sign up for this excellent program or any of our other classes and services, please call (520) 397-7334.
