Welcome to Challenger Elementary School Home of the Rockets!! We are located just north of the Mexico border in beautiful southern Arizona. Our school was named in honor of the Challenger space shuttle that carried Christa McAuliffe, who would have been the first teacher in space. The country was devastated and heartbroken when the space shuttle blew up within seconds after liftoff. The space shuttle was the first reusable manned spacecraft. The City of Nogales has earmarked funding to improve the field in the rear of Challenger Elementary, where the track is located. The improvements to the field will include solar-powered, motion-activated lights that will run on a timer and be placed 25ft above the ground. There would be approximately 14 lights installed around the field to provide adequate lighting for the track, playground area, and basketball court. There is also a proposed shaded ADA-compliant playground structure that would be installed near the basketball courts.

La Ciudad de Nogales ha destinado fondos para mejorar el campo en la parte trasera de la Primaria Challenger, donde se encuentra la pista. Las mejoras al campo incluirán luces activadas por movimiento que funcionan con energía solar que funcionarán con un temporizador y se colocarán a 25 pies sobre el suelo. Se instalarían aproximadamente 14 luces alrededor del campo para proporcionar una iluminación adecuada para la pista, el área de juegos y la cancha de baloncesto. Arizona Parental Rights Handbook In the 2020 Arizona Legislative Session, the Legislature established ARS § 15- 249.16 which requires the ADE to establish and post a statutory handbook of parental rights, which has been done. Additionally, each school district and charter school must prominently post a link to the statutory handbook of parental rights on a publicly accessible portion of their website.
