Registering for school is a crucial step in ensuring that your child receives a quality education. Whether you are enrolling a new student or registering a returning student, it is important to be familiar with the registration process. To ease the task, Nogales Unified School District now offers online registration, making it convenient for parents. 

New Student Registration.

To begin the registration process for a new student to enroll into Nogales Unified School District#1, you must first gather all necessary documents such as proof of residency, immunization records, birth certificate and transcripts from their previous school. Please visit the Student Registration Required Documents for a complete list of the required documents. 

We also provide online registration services on our online registration page. This form allows you to input contact information, proof of residency, immunization records, and other required details. Note that some documents may require to be notarized. If you prefer to register in person, you can contact our school's registrar or visit the school office to obtain the registration form and fill it out manually. The registrar will guide you through the registration process and answer any questions you may have. 

After completion of the registration process, will typically provide an enrollment appointment, where you will meet with a counselor or advisor to discuss your child's placement and course selection.

Kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration usually has separate procedures. For Nogales Unified School District, the child must be 5 years old before September 1st in order for the child to enroll. For this process, the child needs to be present,and the process takes around 30 minutes per child. Provide immunization records, birth certificate, parent/guardian contact information, and proof of residency. Open Enrollment

For families new to the area or looking to change schools, it is important to be aware of open-enrollment or school-choice policies. These policies may allow your child to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance zone. Contact your school district's enrollment services or welcome center to learn more about these options. If your child requires special education services, working closely with the school's special education department is essential. They will advise you on the necessary steps and help ensure your child's educational needs are met.

School enrollment/Transitioning

Every year, parents will receive an enrollment package by mail, and provide an enrollment appointment where you will meet with a counselor or advisor to discuss your child's placement and course selection. It is important to complete and bring all documents included on the enrollment packages. If you have any questions or concerns, our school's registrar will be available to assist. By familiarizing yourself with the enrollment process, which is done online, and staying organized, you can ensure a smooth transition for your child from the first day of school through their academic journey.        

In order to keep our students as healthy as possible, we require all children enrolled in school to be current on all immunizations. The state of Arizona has compiled a list of shots and the ages your child should receive them. We’ve included this list belowfor your reference.
